Matt van den Heuvel

Born in New Hampshire and raised in Redmond, Washington, Matt has been living and performing in Bellingham since 2009.  Music was never a substantial part of his childhood until the age of 13, when inspired by rock and pop music of the time; Matt enrolled in private music instruction.  Years passed, and interests were refined. He began exploring the sounds of Jimi Hendrix, of Wes Montgomery, Peter Green, and others. As his ear and conceptual understanding grew, so did his love for playing, and eventually the decision was made to begin a more formal education in music at Western Washington University. Since then, Matt has graduated with a degree in music and has established himself as one of the most active guitarists in the area. He currently teaches private lessons while performing locally and beyond.
